iLounge reports that according to credible sources Apple has created up to three separate prototypes of the upcoming tablet, the latest of which has a 10.7-inch screen and runs on the same operating system as the iPhone. Earlier reports indicated that the tablet would have a 9.6-inch display (Apple iSlate Reviews – September 15th, 2009). They go on to suggest that the tablet even looks like an iPhone 3GS and offers both 3G and non-3G networking capabilities. They speculate that the resolution will be approximately 720p as the device will focus on multi-media and publishing functions as opposed to competing directly with netbooks. Lastly iLounge stated that according to its sources the tablet will be announced in January 2010 for delivery in May or June of 2010.
